I took a look around me - what's going on today…
War down in Bosnia, fires in L.A.
There's a homeless mother crying, starving babies dying
A shell-shocked vet screams, "I'm no freak!"
A young man shot down in the streets

How long can we turn our backs on our fellow man?
Something wrong is going on, I've got to take a stand
But I am only one voice - I'm only one voice strong
How can I make a difference? How can I make a difference?

So, I headed off to Denver, in hopes that I might find
The voice of kindred spirits with a common goal in mind
There was a voice from every nation, a whole new generation
Joined as one, standing strong
We'll find a way to right the wrongs

We went to the mountains, got down on our knees to pray
His message was so simple: "This is the only way
Love is the answer, love is the only answer
And you can make a difference, yeah, you can make a difference"

Five hundred thousand people, joined together, hand in hand
To light the fire of peace on earth, to show good will toward man
With love as the solution, let's start the revolution
Together as the human race, we can make this world a better place
